The Marvelshas proved to be a massive failure at the box office, grossing just over $160 million globally against a massive budget of $274.8 million. The financial performance of the Brie Larson starrer is bound to leave Marvel bosses scratching their heads as to how they can fight the recent trend of superhero fatigue.

Meanwhile, a few fans who watched the movie were left confused with the post-credits scene of the Nia DaCosta-directed movie, which incidentally seems to have more twists and turns – including the introduction of Binary – than the main plot itself.

The Marvels Fans Are Confused After Seeing the Quantum Bands With Another Character
The Marvelssees Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) come together after their powers are entangled in their fight against villainous Kree revolutionary Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton).
As Dar-Benn rips a hole in the universe, Monica sacrifices herself to close it, trapping herself on the other side of the wormhole in the process.

However, in the post-credits scene, the viewers are shown she is still alive, waking up in a different reality. She sees a variant of Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch), who appears to be her mother. As per X-Men’s Beast, Binary, who is this dimension’s Maria, found Monica floating in space.
This is also the scene where eagle-eyed fans notice Lynch’s character with the Quantum Bands after initially overlooking them. This has left them with more questions than answers.

This scene might prove to be a pivotal point in weaving the world of X-Men with the MCU, as Binary is a member of the X-Men.

Why It Doesn’t Make Sense for Binary to Have Both Quantum Bands In The Marvels
While the new characters and references from X-Men, including Beast talking about Charles (presumably Charles Xavier, a.k.a. Professor X, leader of the X-Men) were certainly exciting, Marvel writers did little to explain how Binary ended up with both Quantum Bands.
The unique energy-manipulating devices give their wearer incredible powers. Dar-Benn was able to create a tear to another reality by using the Bands. But at the same time, if both of the Bands are used simultaneously, it will create a large amount of energy that can easily kill the user as well as the target, no matter how strong the user is. When Dar-Benn used both bands, she immediately exploded. As such, how Binary managed to boast both Bands remains unclear.
Further, one of the Bands was also seen in the hands of Carol, raising further question marks on Binary having both Bands. Interestingly, in Marvel Comics, Binary is an alter ego of Carol and not Maria. However,The Marvelsdidn’t shed any light on this connection either.
