Despite the hours of screen time TV shows have dedicated to some TVcouples, some of them just don’t take off. The place where we see some of the most dreamy couples like Monica and Chandler or Jim and Pam also shows us stories of couples that are highly incompatible. Sometimes on TV shows, even when all the right ingredients seem to be there, two of our favorite characters getting together just doesn’t work.

There are a number of onscreencouplesthat still keep us cringing/confused/enraged and we’re not always sure if the ‘drama’ was worth it or not. Take a look at some TV couples which felt super forced:
1.Rachel and Joey fromFriends
Associating Rachel and Joey was so random that it felt like the writers just ran out of ideas. The two were suitable as friends.
2.Izzie and George fromGrey’s Anatomy
They made absolutely no sense. Nothing came out of the relationship except their ruined friendship.
3.Zack and Lane fromGilmore Girls
The actors appeared to have no chemistry at all, and everything about them seemed forced. The makers did Lane dirty.
4.Robin and Ted fromHow I Met Your Mother
Robin and Ted were romantically incompatible, yet they were forced together time and time again over nine seasons. This was one of the sole reasons why people hated the finale.
5.Otis and Ola fromSex Education:
They didn’t quite give the vibe that they liked each other. It felt like there was very little chemistry.
6.Fez and Jackie fromThat ’70s Show
Fez and Jackie had no chemistry. She wasn’t interested in him romantically for the entire series, then just suddenly changed her mind in the end. She and Hyde should have ended up together instead
7.Maggie and Jackson fromGrey’s Anatomy
Anyone who had watchedGrey’s Anatomywould agree on this. Everything about them felt so forced and wrong. Somehow, the whole messy stepsiblings storyline wasn’t even the most uncomfortable and problematic thing about their relationship.
8.Daenerys and Jon fromGame of Thrones
Jon and Daenerys got together for thematic reasons, but the actors severely lacked on-screen chemistry. The fact that Jon fell for a power-hungry tyrant who enjoyed watching people burn alive, that too after risking his own life to prevent Mance from meeting that fate was ridiculous.
9.Silver and Liam from90210
Their relationship literally came out of nowhere. They had zero chemistry with each other.
10.Rachel and Ross fromFriends
Although Rachel and Ross were supposed to be ‘meant to be,’ but their relationship never seemed natural. They had the best chemistry as friends.
11.Tristan and Miles fromDegrassi: Next Class
The two had a very toxic relationship. Once Tristan was in a coma, the show suddenly acted as if the two had always been really close, even though they’d never shown it before. It was super forced.
12.Mercedes and Sam fromGlee
It would’ve been good to seem them end up together, but the way they first got together felt forced.
13.Spencer and Caleb fromPretty Little Liars
Spencer got mad at Hanna for not being honest about still having feelings for Caleb, but Spencer should have never dated Caleb in the first place.
14.Bellamy and Echo fromThe 100
It got weird when Bellamy and Echo were suddenly magically together and ‘devoted to each other’ because of six years in space.
15.Kelly and Darryl fromThe Office
Kelly and Darryl were just annoying and chaotic together.
16.Spinner and Emma fromDegrassi: The Next Generation
The makers of the show tried to wrap up the characters’ storylines by randomly having them get married. It just made no sense.
17.Dan and Blair fromGossip Girl
Dan and Blair were complete opposites and hated each other. Then one fine day they went to the same college and suddenly had feelings for each other. Seriously?
18.Scott and Malia fromTeen Wolf
Scott and Malia’s relationship made no sense. They worked better off as friends.
19.Dylan and Haley fromModern Family
It felt so wrong for Dylan and Haley to end up together after they had both changed so much. It felt forced and cliché for the writers to have Haley’s high school boyfriend be her ‘soulmate’ all along.
20.Anna and Seth fromThe O.C.
Anna and Seth broke up because Seth loved Summer, but the two of them being together in the first place seemed like such a silly ploy.
21.Veronica and Piz fromVeronica Mars
Piz and Veronica were together just to keep the drama between Logan and Veronica going. Veronica never showed any interest in Piz until it was convenient for the plot.
22.Stefan and Caroline fromThe Vampire Diaries
It was as if the characters only got together because they were the only two single people left on the show.
23.Joey and Dawson fromDawson’s Creek
Joey and Dawson emitted a brother-sister vibe from the start. After seeing the chemistry between Joey and Pacey, Dawson and Joey just felt forced.
24.Lola and Saad fromDegrassi: Next Class
Putting Lola and Saad together felt like an attempt of the makers to re-create the dynamic from Miles and Lola’s relationship. However, their relationship seemed a bit one-sided and forced since we don’t really know what a real relationship between them would have been like in the long run. They were cute as friends, but the last thing Saad needed at the time was a romance.
25.Donna and Randy fromThat ’70s Show
Donna’s relationship with Randy was so not needed. Randy’s character was a terrible addition to the show.
