Zack Snyder’s vision of aJustice Leagueshould have been a marvelous thing by now if James Gunn hadn’t taken over the rein of the DCU and discarded the Snyderverse. With years of Batman fighting Superman and other stand-alone movies, Darkseid was finally brought into the DCEU.

Although Darkseid’s servant was the main antagonist ofZack Snyder’s Justice League,Steppenwolf left plenty of destruction in his wake. If Snyder were to finish his vision, Darkseid would have defeated many more DCEU characters in his reign. Here are 6 characters from DC Comics, that were annihilated by Darkseid.
6) Kilowog
A part of the Green Lantern Corps, Kilowog was a veteran Green Lantern member who is a dear friend to Hal Jordan. During Cyborg’s Knightmare Vision inZack Snyder’s Justice League, it is shown that Kilowog’s body is lying on the debris with a hole burned right through his chest.
This violent death implied that Superman, who was controlled by Darkseid, killed Kilowog. Cyborg gets these visions while they are trying to revive Superman as the horrors ofZack Snyderand the DCEU are unleashed on the character.

5) Yalan Gur
Fighting against Darkseid during ancient times when he attacked Earth and Sector 2814, Yalan Gur was an ancient Green Lantern who fought against the villainous tyrant. In Snyder’s vision, Yalan Gur’s body is found dismembered and impaled by Darkseid’s weapon and his Green Lantern ring flies off into space to find its next successor.
4) Aquaman

When the Kryptonian ship forces Cyborg to see these visions, Victor Stone also sees what happens to the members of the Justice League. In his vision, Aquaman has a horrible death in his future at the hands of Darkseid.

As per the vision, Aquaman is seen getting impaled by the Trident of Atlan in his Throne Room in the Kingdom of Atlantis. Alongside Aquaman, Vulko is seen getting disintegrated and Darkseid residing over the impaled dead body of the Atlantian king.
3) Wonder Woman
Being one of the most powerful members of the Justice League, it wasn’t easy for Darkseid to kill Wonder Woman. But he did kill her as seen in Cyborg’s vision in Zack Snyder’s 2021 film. As per the visions, Queen Hippolyta is seen mourning over the dead body of Diana Prince.
During her funeral procession, Darkseid appears in his vessel which showcases that he was the one who killed her. Considering how tough Wonder Woman is, the death showcases just how powerful Darkseid is.

InBatman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,Bruce Wayne gets a vision where a desolated Earth has Superman reigning over the chaos. The audience may remember the scene where Batman’s men are killed and he is captured and arrested when Superman appears.

In his vision, Superman incinerates Batman and ends up killing him. Since Superman was being controlled by Darkseid, the death can be indirectly counted, but in the unreleased sequels forZack Snyder’s Justice League,it is Darkseid himself who steps down to kill Batman during their confrontation.
1) Superman

And finally, the man behind it all. Superman’s death is one of the most painful deaths ever experienced in the Knightmare Vision. Superman does not really die but everything that he stood for, his morals, his principles, and his home, everything is taken away from him.
When Batman fails to save Lois Lane, Darkseid uses the Anti-Life Equation on Superman which reduces him to a mere puppet without free will. Darkseid uses Superman to wreak havoc on Earth and kill everyone who stands in his way all the while Superman dies from the inside with each breath that he takes.
So all in all, Zack Snyder’s vision was pretty brutal yet very satisfying, as audiences would have been treated to how each of these deaths could have been avoided. Sadly, this vision may never come true now that James Gunn has taken over the reins of the DCU.
