This event was a very heated one as everyone may remember, which made her rethink the decision she took to apply for her US citizenship in the first place.
While this may have been meant as a joke, many from the entertainment and media space took this as a genuine offense.Fox& Friendspresenter Anna Kooiman said that the actress was welcome to leave, saying:
“Well, you know what? Why don’t you leaveHollywood, Californiaand let some of theAmericanwomen take the roles that you’re getting becauseAmericancitizens are watching your movies and lining your pockets.”
Blunt later apologized for her comments, clearing the fact that this was just a joke and she didn’t think it would hurt anyone’s sentiments, let alone to such an extent.

This isn’t the only time the actress has found herself being the target of public rage and outbursts, as just recently, she found herself being accused of fat-shaming a waitress when she was at a Chili’s restaurant in the past.
In a viral clip from an episode ofThe Jonathan Ross Show, theOppenheimerstar revealed that she went to a Chili’s restaurant when she was shooting for a film. She said when she saw the waitress who was taking her orders, her instant reaction was about her size, saying just how ‘enormous’ she was. She has also recently apologized for these comments.
