Over the course of the first episode or two, Geralt begins to warm up to the sorceress Anya Chalotra’s Yennefer through a series of small moments. At one point, he resumes his conversation with Yen.

Geralt finally writes a detailed letter toAnya Chalotra’sYennefer as a response to her “Dear Friend” notes at the climax of this subplot. He tells Yen in the letter that he is confident in her ability to look after Ciri now. Afterward, Yennefer takes Ciri to Aretuza, and they part ways.
This development is crucial because Yennefer will play a larger role in Season 3 in Ciri’s life. Ciri can learn much from Yennefer, a powerful sorceress, about her magical abilities and how to master them. In addition, the relationship between Yennefer and Ciri will provide Yennefer with a chance to make amends for her behavior in Season 2.
In the subsequent episodes, Ciri will be with Yennefer, so that will be their time to bond before the events of Thanedd in episode 6 of Season 3. An important part of the history of magic inThe Witchercan be traced back to Thanedd when the Conclave of Mages gathered on the island.

The event also causes major shifts in the relationships between the characters, such as the breakup between Yennefer and Geralt.
