Since the character’s inception in the late 30s, there has been a sizeable amount of live-action action adaptations of the world’s greatest detective, and things aren’t looking to slow down anytime soon. But considering that many of these films took a more grounded approach with Batman, most prominently Nolan and now Reeves, it leaves a substantial portion of the character’s mythos out.

Following this, the movie landscape is still yet to acknowledge some of Batman’s most impressive feats, with one of the more notable ones being the time he sacrificed himself to resurrect Damian Wayne.

Batman Went Toe to Toe With Darkseid to Revive Damian Wayne
In Grant Morrison’sBatman Incorporated#8, Damien Wayne gets impaled by his clone, The Heretic, during a Leviathan invasion of Wayne Tower. Following his death, his sarcophagus is later stolen by Ra’s Al Ghul, who aims to create multiple clones of Robin to take down Batman, who is then invaded by Darkseid’s minion Glorious Godfrey. Godfrey, who succeeds in taking Damien Wayne’s body to Apokolips to gain the Chaos Shard, which is revealed to be in Robin’s sarcophagus, is then followed by Batman along with the rest of the Batfamily.
This eventually results in a final confrontation between Darkseid and Batman, who faces the ruler of Apokolips in his Hellbat suit, which was forged by each member of the Justice League. Eventually, he retrieves Damien Wayne’s body and escapes Apokolips with the rest of the Batfamily along with the Chaos Shard, which he uses to resurrect the Boy Wonder but eventually sacrifices himself.

The Drought of Robin in Live-Action Is Finally Set to Over
While it’s unlikely for this storyline to be adapted for the big screen anytime soon, the upcoming years will finally bring one of the most important aspects to the big screen, Robin. With James Gunn confirming that Damien Wayne is set to make his live-action debut in DCU’sThe Brave and the Bold, rumors also emerged claiming thatThe Batman Part IImight include Robin.
PerMyTimeToShineHello, the sequel might include Dick Grayson, which does make sense, asRobert Pattinson‘s Wayne appears like the one who might take a crime-fighting teen under his wing.

Although things haven’t been smooth sailing for the DC universe, the world’s greatest detective has remained immune to it and fans will hope like the comics, the films too give Robin the time to shine.
