DC’sJustice Leagueis a film that went through its share of controversies. The much-anticipated movie in the DCU which brought together the iconic DC superheroes for the first time was director Zack Snyder’s brainchild. Unfortunately, owing to a personal tragedy, Snyder had to step down from the helm halfway through the film and handed over the reins to Joss Whedon.Justice Leagueopened to mixed reviews with audiences claiming that Zack Snyder’s magnum opus was undone by Joss Whedon with the latter making merciless cuts from Snyder’s original vision.

Furthermore, the rumor mills began churning when the cast including Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck talked about their difficult working experience with Joss Whedon. But Zack Snyder came back with a bang with his version of the storyline inZack Snyder’s Justice League,a 4-hour marathon that encompassed all of the director’s original inspirations behind the characters and the DC Universe. This film was highly lauded by fans and actors, including Ben Affleck.

Ben Affleck heaps of praise on Zack Snyder
Hollywood starBen Affleckwho played Batman inJustice Leaguespoke candidly about his experience in both versions of the film. After the debacle of the first film directed by Joss Whedon, theArgostar confessed that he wanted to have nothing to do with the movie or the franchise, after a tumultuous relationship with the film’s director. Stating that the experience also affected his personal life, the actor said,
“That was the worst experience I’ve ever seen in a business that is full of some shitty experiences. It broke my heart. “I started to drink too much. I was back at the hotel in London, it was either that or jump out the window. And I just thought, ‘This isn’t the life I want.”

In this state of mind, the actor was wary whenZack Snyderapproached him to recreate his version of the film. But theGone Girlstar ultimately accepted the offer and went on to lavish praise on theBatman vs Supermandirector for his undying efforts to resurrect his brainchild. Affleck also added thatZack Snyder’s Justice Leaguewas the highest-rated film of his career and thanked the director for having urged him to get on board.
