In fact, he leaves no stone unturned, to such an extent that a real-life robber complimented how wonderfully he pulled off the bank robberies inThe Town.His dedication to his projects has led him to win various Academy Awards.
One such movie also happens to beArgo.Directed by Affleck, the movie managed to win an Oscar for Best Picture as well. The actor has never once made people doubt how wonderful of an actor he really is. Even if the project he is in does poorly, he would stand out sparkingly.

Ben Affleck’sArgofollows Tony Mendez as he poses as a Hollywood Executive in order to extract and rescue six American citizens who were trapped in Tehran, taking place during the US hostage situation in Iran. The movie got massive amounts of praise and was highly critically acclaimed, leading to it winning not one but three Academy Awards. Based on a true story, the movie was supposed to get a lot of different facts right but didn’t.
“90 percent of the contributions to the ideas and consummation of the plan was Canadian. And the movie gives almost full credit to the American CIA.”
The 39th U.S. President, Jimmy Carter himself spoke up about the matter, stating that the credit in the movie was given primarily to the American CIA when they barely had any contribution to the project. He focused on how Canada had a big part if not 90% of the help was done by Canadians. He wanted credit to be rightfully given to their neighboring nation. In fact, he pointed specifically at Victor Garber’s Ken Taylor as the real hero of the entire mission.

The Scam of ‘Based on True Events’
There are multiple projects that are advertised as being based on or inspired by true events. Some movies are also marketed as being completely adapted from true events. These movies have a lot of expectations relying on them because it is not fiction that they are portraying but reality. However, again and again, certain details get overlooked no matter how important or insignificant they may seem.
Movies likeThe Blind Side, A Beautiful Mind, The Walk, and many others might seem like lovely movies but even they got a lot of things wrong. Adding old and wrinkled photos in the end doesn’t necessarily prove that the ideas being presented to the audience were well-researched or not. Giving credit where credit is due isn’t too difficult and it doesn’t really paint anyone in a bad light. On the other hand, messing up such projects can easily enrage the audience, and the media as well as public opinion does not get any kinder.
