Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2revealed why Zero Division members were considered the best of the Gotei 13. They stopped the best of Ywach’s Schuztstaffel with a riveting team display. In one last ditch to protect the Soul King, Tenjiro Kirinji, Kirio Hikifune, and Ouetsu Nimaiya even sacrificed themselves to transfer their powers to Senjumaru Shutara.

While the season’s focus was Uryu’s ‘separation’ from Ichigo, the visual spectacle produced by Studio Pierrot in the finale became the show-stealer. The dramatic battle between the Wandenreich and the Royal Guards that took place in Episode 12 and Episode 13 broke the internet last week. Many changes were made in the anime that didn’t feature in the manga.

Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Revealed The True Extent Of The Squad Zero’s Powers
One of the key differences between theBleach TYBWanime and manga is the fight and eventual defeat of the Divine Guards. When Bleach Chapters 592-601 was published in 2016, fans were disappointed by the resistance put on by the strongest squad in Gotei 13. They were easily defeated by Ywach’s elite guards, except Ichibei Hyosube, whom The Almighty dealt with personally.
Bleach Thousand-Year Blood Waranime not only featured the astronomical powers of Squad Zero that threatened the existence of the Soul Society but also included a Bankai release that wasn’t seen in the manga. After knowing that they had no other option, every other Guard except Hyosube slashed their throats to activate the ‘blood oath pact’ and unlock Senjumaru Shutara’s true potential.

As tremors were felt in every part of Seireitei, Shutaru’s use ofShatatsu Karagara Shigarami no Tsujirevealed the reason why no Squad Zero members used their Bankais. She trapped Jugram Haschwalth and Gerard Valkyrie with various elemental powers which were accompanied by deadly music and theatrics from the numerous hands sprouting from her back.

Other than Senjumaru’s anime-exclusive Bankai release, scenes showing the extent of the powers of Squad Zero that were either drawn from different points of view or scrapped from the manga were also featured in the anime. Both the physical and mental capabilities of the Royal Guards were portrayed in the battle as they used teamwork to overwhelm their opponents.
Kirinji unleashed his Shikai,Kinpinka, to overwhelm Haschwalth with his steamy hot water spring that drains Reiatsu and neutralizes him with a few flashy maneuvers. Similarly, Kirio Hikufune maintained the Cage of Life to imprison Ywach and laugh at Lilie Barro’s efforts to free the Leader. Oetsu overcame Death Dealing’s effect and defeated Askin.

The Most Notable Change In The Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Anime
Manga readers may remember the controversial exit of the Squad Zero members inBleach Thousand-Year Blood War.They were unceremoniously written off the script because it never featured the sacrifices of the Royal Guards to unlock Senjumaru’s Bankai. To elaborate, when the battle scenes in the Soul Society shifted to the ensuing battle scenes in the Soul Palace, Tenjiro Kirinji, Kirio Hikifune, Senjumaru Shuatara, and Ouetsu Nimaiya lay lifeless, and no definite conclusion was given as to how they were defeated so quickly.
Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2deviated from that ending to Ouetsu, Kirinji, and Hikifune. Tite Kubo was able to finally include the scene that was scrapped in the manga probably because the sacrifices bore the theme of suicide. Moreover, the ending made Squad Zero save face as they were the ones who eliminated themselves rather than being utterly defeated by the enemy.
