When comparingBorutotoNaruto, some fans have said that the sequel is completely unsatisfactory. The Infinite Tsukuyomi theory makes it possible to start over and erase any perceived errors that may have occurred during the development of theBorutoseries.
But the theory has no legs. It would be invalidating years of character and plot development to write off the entire series as Madara’s creation of a fake reality. As the show has gained a devoted fan base, the characters have developed into essential components of it.
