While promoting his most recent film,Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which made it to the big screens just last year, Carrey, 61, was asked about his thoughts on collaborating with Dolly Parton in a biopic. But as grateful as he was for the opportunity to work with the music icon, theBruce Almightystar made it crystal clear that he had no intentions whatsoever to carry on with acting.
“Well, that’s a lovely thing, but I’m retiring,”Carrey told Access Hollywood. When asked if he was serious about retirement, he said,“I’m being fairly serious, yeah.”So, is there something that could nudge him into changing his mind? Yeah, a gilded script hand-delivered by angels. Literally.

There is one condition under which he’d be willing to consider working on a new project, and that depends on“if the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to [him] that it’s going to be really important for people to see.”
“I might continue down the road,”Carrey said.“But I’m taking a break.”For the most part though, he seems to be satiated with his career and doesn’t mind closing this chapter of his life after leading at least 57 films and accumulating a hefty net worth of about $180 million.
