The Marvel Studios never considered postponing the sequel to 2024, despite the film being heavily affected by the strikes, suggesting that the studio has no confidence in the film.

It was already concerning that the studio never considered to push the blockbuster back to 2024 despite of the strikes, almost as they didn’t think the film was worth fighting for – or at least trying to.”
As a result,The Marvelshave an all-time low pre-ticket sales, showcasing that the Marvel fans are not at all interested in the sequel. The low ticket sales would equate to the film having a disappointing opening weekend. As perBox Office Pros, the upcoming film will earn somewhere between $50 to $75 million, and between $121 to $189 million in total domestically.
While this may come as a surprise the box office estimates ofThe Marvelsmake it a more disappointing watch thanEternalsas the film had earned only $71.3 million in its opening weekend, but amassed a total of $164.8 million domestically. The sequel would be immensely lucky if it somehow manages to have an exciting weekend if it manages to come close toAnt-Man 3’searnings at the opening weekend, that is, $106.1 million, earning a total of $214.5 million domestically.

Is Brie Larson’s Upcoming Sequel Going Down in The Flames?
While these numbers are merely rough estimates forThe Marvels,it is for sure that Brie Larson’s upcoming film can no longer assure that the film will be a must-watch for ardent MCU fans. After the Infinity Saga two of the most promising films, that is,Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessandAnt-Man and The Wasp: Quantumaniahad let down the fans.
As a result, once backed by the unconditional support from their fans, Marvel has now lost their support as fans are now hesitant to watch another crossover event. While Marvel has created the most successful franchise in the history of cinema with the direction being lost, it is difficult to state if the long-term devoted MCU fans would turn up to see the sequel featuring Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, Park Seo-Joon, and many more popular faces.
