After 15 years, Mimimi Games have made the difficult decision to call it quits. It really is sad news for the independent German studio who have developed some fantastic stealth strategy games over the years. Sadly this meansShadow Gambit: The Cursed Crewwill be the company’s final title and through an official statement, founders Dominik Abe and Johannes Roth confirmed that they will be ramping down the studio over the coming months.

What’s the Latest with Mimimi Games?
The founders confirmed they had made the difficult decision in lieu of financial pressures and more importantly, the toll that workloads had put on their friends and family over the years. Gathering the staff together, Abe and Roth shared their decision before the announcement broke and are in the process of reaching out to friends across the industry to try and secure positions for their staff.
The studio itself was the brainchild of students Abe and Roth during their time studying video game design. They began working together in 2008 under the initial moniker, Mimimi, and it was in 2011 that Mimimi Games studio was founded in Munich, Germany.
Over the years since it’s inception, the studio has released some much loved strategy games such as:Desperado III,Shadow Tactics: Blade of the Shogunand most recentlyShadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew.
In their announcement the founders of Mimimi Games confirmed they will continue to develop the additional content forShadow Gambit: The Cursed Crewand that the studios games will still be available for all platforms.
With thanks to staff, partners and many more, Abe and Roth signed off on their announcement with the following;
“And while we don’t know what the future will hold for the both of us, we still love video games. We had a really good run and we are truly grateful for all of this!”

Unsurprisingly, once the news was officially announced on their official Twitter/X page, many voiced their shock, disappointment, and certainly their well wishes for the future of the employees;

And whilst this breaking news may be a shock to many fans, we have to look at the bigger picture. The wellbeing of the staff is first and foremost and certainly the financial pressures that are being felt, not only in the gaming industry, but worldwide have taken their toll.
