This encounter led to Chan making a promise to Black that they would collaborate on a live-action movie when the right concept came along.
Eager to seize this opportunity, Black has been diligently brainstorming the film’s details. While there’s still much work ahead, he’s already settled on the title “Cheeseburger” for the first installment, with the obvious follow-up being named “Double Cheeseburger.“

Jack Black’s Movie Idea With Jackie Chan Traumatized Conan O’Brien
As the characters Po Ping and Monkey gained increasing popularity,Jack BlackandJackie Chancontinued to captivate audiences with two additional sequels to theKung Fu Pandafranchise over the years.During a previous appearance on the TBS talk showConan, Black shared his disappointment in never having the opportunity to meet the actor in person, despite their long collaboration.
Black toldConan O’Brien:
“And then I saw this man, and his aura was just glowing. We had like this powerful shake and we had like amazing eye contact, transferal of energies and he said, ‘think of a movie; we’d do it.'”
Keen to make the most of this chance, Black conveyed his enthusiasm for the project and his dedication to refining the film’s particulars. Although there’s plenty of work left to be done, he has already chosen the title “Cheeseburger” for the initial film, and it’s apparent that the sequel will naturally be called “Double Cheeseburger.”
Conan’s response to the idea of the film was hilarious. The show host said, “Please don’t ever pitch this idea to him.” Jack Black came back at him by saying that Jackie Chan just wanted him to come up with a film, regardless of how silly the storyline would be.

Jack Black Thought He Was Going To Die Riding a Water Buffalo
During a GQ interview, Jack Black delved into some notable films from his career, such asHigh Fidelity(2000),Shallow Hal(2001),Orange County(2002),School of Rock(2003),King Kong(2005), and others. When the conversation turned toTropic Thunder,he reminisced about his experiences during the film’s production.
Black told GQ:
“I was on the back of a gigantic water buffalo at one point. It was carrying me around a mountain pass. We were like on our 13th take and I didn’t blame the water buffalo because I’m heavy and it didn’t want me on its back. And it started bucking like a bronco and they were like ‘Cut Cut’ and I was like ‘I can’t stop him’. And he f*cking blew and I went flying, flip a** over tea kettle, somehow miraculously landed between two boulders. Wind knocked out of me, but no lacerations, no injuries. Miracle, I should have died.”
In a comical turn of events, the film’s director, Ben Stiller, appeared oblivious to Jack Black’s ordeal and called for another take of the same scene. In response, Black humorously exited the set, instructing Stiller to take the buffalo’s reins instead. It was only later that Stiller learned about the mishap that had befallen Black and offered his sincere apologies.
