On Saturday, June 26, 2025, the official rankings for Japanese Animation TV shows from November 27 to December 3 were released. They included popular shows likeFrieren: Beyond Journey’s End,One Piece, andDetective Conan.

The data shows that the new slow-paced anime,Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, is becoming a favorite among fans. It’s doing better than popular anime likeJujutsu KaisenandOne Piece.
Despite its recent popularity,Jujutsu KaisenSeason 2 wasn’t even among the top 10 most-watched anime on Japanese TV.

It didn’t make the list, possibly because it scored lower than AnimatedO-saru no George (Curious George), which had a rating of 2.0.
According to Video Research statistics,Frieren: Beyond Journey’s Endcontinued to outperformOne PieceandJujutsu Kaisen, the margin betweenFrierenanime andJujutsu Kaisenis significant.

FrierenAnime Sparks Double the Interest ofJujutsu KaisenSeason 2 Among Viewers

The data suggests that almost twice as many people were interested in theFrierenanime compared toJujutsu Kaisenseason 2.
This is surprising, especially considering the recent controversy aroundJujutsu Kaisen’sproduction schedule. It’s important to note that these statistics don’t include people who might have watched either anime later in the week.
