Back in mid-April this year, the 38-year-old actress,Aubrey Plazalead a commercial in which she was promoting a fake brand calledWood Milk. Introducing herself as the co-founder of the brand, she mocked the plant-based milk in a satirical way by sharing non-dairy flavors like oak, cherry, maple, and mahogany.

She said in the video,

“If you can’t pick your favorite [flavor], that’s okay, because they all taste like wood.”

It was a connotation that plant-based milk tastes like wood! Towards the end of the video, she faces the camera and said in her deadpan style,

“Is Wood Milk real? Absolutely not. Only real milk is real.”

The commercial was created by the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP), a milk industry marketing organization that ran the iconic ‘Got Milk?’campaign that ran from the 1990s until 2014.

Soon after the video hit the Internet, vegans strongly criticized the actress for supporting dairy milk. However, her fans came to support her.

The Marvel actress has been the subject of criticism for supporting dairy milk by participating in the satirical plant-based milk commercial. However, her fans came to her defense from all across the world to appreciate what she did in the commercial. Not only that, but dairy milk consumers also participated and shared their opinions on the heated subject.

Plant-based milk is highly processed which degrades its nutritional value. Many have claimed that its’ complex procedures end up making the product artificial, unlike animal-based foods. Though it is also a fact that dairy production also involves processing before it reaches the consumer so to think one is right while the other is wrong would be a difficult conclusion. The milk war has been going on for years now with one choosing plant-based milk and the other taking a different route.
