Jujutsu Kaisenhas been quite an interesting series and hasn’t failed to amaze us with the plot. Ever since the moment Yuji swallowed the finger of the King of the Curses, it was engraved before us that this young boy was the protagonist of the series! However, with the recent developments in the manga, it seems like Yuji has lost his touch.

Ever since Chapter 212 when Sukuna claimed his one minute of freedom, he rocked the world of Yuji and wreaked complete havoc on his vessel. However, these events led to the protagonist becoming quite powerless and people raising questions about his powers.

Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen

Yuji Itadori has become the weakest shonen protagonist we’ve ever seen

Compared to other Shonen protagonists in anime, Yuji Itadori has become officially the weakest. He can’t use Cursed Energy. Neither does he have a cursed technique of his own. He is just existing in the Jujutsu world at this point without any redeeming factor.

Sukuna considered Megumi to be more capable of being a vessel than Itadori. He abandoned the previous vessel and was helped by an ally to escape Maki’s attacks. The series’ protagonist, Itadori, has been forcibly powered down while characters like Yuta Okkotsu and Hakari Kinji are roaming around with their incredible techniques.

Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisenfans are discussing Itadori’s value as a Shonen protagonist. This is the first time in anime history that we’re seeing a mainstream lead character powering down. Most shonen main characters, such asBleach‘s Ichigo Kurosaki orDemon Slayer‘s Tanjiro Kamado, have started with immense power boosts or have consistently scaled the power scale. Occasionally, they injure themselves and become out of action, but they never experience the loss of power Itadori faces.

Itadori and Maki try to prevent Sukuna, but Uraume, who we’ve previously seen working alongside Kenjaku and Mahito, drops at the scene and freezes the duo in ice. The curse again belittles Itadori. They state that immobilizing Maki was a good plan since she posed a threat. However, Itadori quickly broke free of the mound of ice he was encased in and ran after the pair.

The two antagonists escape the scene on Nue while Itadori helplessly chases them. These panels show us how powerless Itadori has become, unable to do anything. The villains sneer at him while he yells after them. They compare him to the Harima statue, which is a sculpture depicting a young, screaming boy.
