Egerton admitted that he would still love to play Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin, but he wanted it to be much more than what the first movie gave to the viewers:

“It feels weirdly like a long time ago now, Kingsman. I would do it, but it would have to be not just about the concept. There was a distorted coming-of-age, My Fair Lady thing with that first film. He was very much a kid.”

The 33-year-old Welsh actor shared his vision for the character after playing the role for a decade:

“Now it’s 10 years on, I’m 10 years older, so I’d want it to be a different kind of story. I’d want it to be about that character, as opposed to just about saving the world.”

Egerton knows quite the path he wants to tread for his character, and while his idea might be clashing with Vaughn’s creative direction, it sounds just about fitting and appropriate after years have passed, and Eggsy is now more experienced.

Taron Egerton Would Return ToKingsmanFranchise On One Condition

Speaking at the Newport Beach Film Festival UK viaRadio Times, Egerton confessed that he would like to return to the franchise if his character is given a good arc and not just endless fighting. He further shared more of his vision for the upcoming movie:

“You know what, I would. I think I would if I felt that it had a really great story and a great arc for him. I really don’t want to just go and do six months of fighting. I really don’t. People love it – it’s exhausting, it’s just not stimulating for me.”

At last, Egerton reiterated that he would like to explore what an older Eggsy would do now that he has more years of practice:

“I would like to see… if we go back and visit Eggsy, which might happen apparently, I think I want to know what being in that world for 10 years does to your head, and I want to see him change. What is it like to be a 35-year-old Kingsman because I’m not the kid anymore? So, there we are.”

Kingsman 4: The Blue Bloodwill be set in the present day following the events inThe Golden Circle. Details about the plot remain scarce, but Vaughn confirmed thatKingsman 4would be the last iteration of the present-dayKingsman, hinting at a climactic and mind-blowing ending.

Kingsmanmovies are available to watch on Disney+ and Hulu.
