Hogwarts Legacyis an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world introduced in the Harry Potter books. It’s quite easily one of the 2023 most highly-anticipated games. The game takes place at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1800s. Players can create their own Wizard or Witch and explore the magical open world, attend classes, fly on magical creatures, fight casting spells, make potions and much more.
What is Wizard’s Field Guide?
From a narrative perspective, Wizard’s Field Guide is a book owned by the Ministry of Magic. It was created for students such as your Hogwarts Legacy protagonist to help them with their studies and catch up to their classmates if they fall behind. In the game, players start as fifth-year students but for reasons unknown yet it’s their first year at Hogwarts. The protagonist receives the Wizard’s Field Guide fromProfessor Matilda Weasleyto advance and learn faster.
However, Wizard’s Field Guide is a magical book that fills itself with new pages as the student learns new spells, potions and various magical knowledge. It’s also a method to discover Hogwarts Legacy lore. There are hundreds of pages that players can find in Hogwarts castle or fill by learning new skills.
Levelling and earning Experience
Additionally, The guide tracks the protagonist’s progress through the whole game and story. Players can use it to learn about the school and gear, collections, talents and challenges, all will advance the main character and provide them with experience and new levels. The ways to level are through different types of challenges, quests, combat, exploration and collecting the Field guide pages.
Gameplay showcase
Just outside of your dormitory after the start of the game, use the “Reveal” spell on the flame icon. It’s a secret that gives the player a special Wizards Field guide page.
Why use Wizard’s Field Guide?
The Wizard’s Field Guide is essentially a place where players can track their progress and is similar to codex menus, which so many other RPG games feature. Each time players find a new page or learn a new skill it will be shown in the guide, rewarding them with achievements and codex entries. As a result, it’s an important menu and will help you during your playthrough and the system encourages players to interact and explore the game world. There is the possibility that the wizard’s Field Guide menu will also store players’ inventory, skills and upgrades.
