Loganstar, Hugh Jackman, has achieved an immense deal in his lifetime as an actor, a performer, and a philanthropist. And not any of it has escaped the crowd’s attention. After beginning his career in the industry with the 1995 Australian drama,Correlli, where the actor met the highly talented and renowned actress, Deborah Lee Furness, marrying her less than a year later; Hugh Jackman’s reputation skyrocketed within a couple of years after being cast as Wolverine in the 2000X-Menfilm.

Hugh Jackman Recognizes His Student at a Film Festival
At the Zurich Film Festival back in 2013, the ever-benevolent and graceful actor, Hugh Jackman, was honored with the Golden Icon Award for his contribution to film and stage on the night of September 28th. Needless to say, his arrival in Zurich was received with a host of fans and reporters waiting outside the festival venue, either for an autograph and a picture or for the journalists to do their respective bits of reporting.

On one particular not-so-private tête-à-tête with a reporter, an incident occurred that would go on to define, yet again, the incredulity of how sophisticated the actor really is and why he is so beloved by the masses. While stopping for an interview, Jackman managed to recognize the interviewer, Rollo Ross, back from the time when the former was a teacher at London’s Uppingham School.
“Rollo, I’m sorry man, we go way back. I used to teach you at a high school and I want to know how your physical education is progressing. It’s very important to me. You guys don’t know that but this man here, I used to teach him at Uppingham School in London. Yes, that’s right. Now, how was your education going? Did I set you up for life? You’ve got a nice show to write there alright.”

Not only did Hugh Jackman go out of his way to acknowledge the reporter as his former student on camera, but subtly delivered a nice little bit of banter, displaying to the world how not only is he a wonderful teacher but also proving once again, the memorable and powerful impact that he has on every person that he meets along the way.
Hugh Jackman and Rollo Ross Have a Banter on Camera
If one thought that Hugh Jackman would acknowledge his student, draw him in for a hug, and leave it at that, one would be wrong. The Wolverine actor simply did not let Rollo Ross down easily as he went on actually recall (and thus immortalize on film), in a typical high school teacher fashion, the extent of his memories of Ross from back in the day.

Ross invokes the moment when Wolverine displays an intense berserker rage and asks his former teacher what makes Hugh Jackman this angry in real life, the actor replies, in mock seriousness:
“You know what makes me angry, Rollo? You know, students who don’t really listen. No, it’s the kind of student who don’t bring their kit, the kind of students who don’t jump in the pool when I tell ’em to jump in, that’s what makes me angry, Rollo. In fact, I’m remembering you more and more.”

The actor immediately breaks character and melts away in laughter along with Ross and the event sure did make for an adorable reunion between the two at the Zurich Film Festival’s red carpet event, decades down the line.
