Antony Starr deserves all the plaudits for his performance inThe Boys. The New Zealand-born actor has delivered, hands down, one of the most scintillating performances in a superhero live-action series for years as the anti-hero who can save the world from everything but his own self. That is the beauty (or rather horror) of Homelander’s character. And if one were to trust the star, the horror is only going to grow in the coming seasons.

Karl Urban and Antony Starr get candid

Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher and Antony Starr’s Homelander are the two arch nemesis whose rivalry has lit upThe Boysever since its first season aired. (Spoilers ahead!) Season 3 saw the rivalry grow to a new height as Butcher himself slugged it out with the Leader of the 7 (though it didn’t turn out well for him).

Yet, one shouldn’t let the character’s on-screen rivalry fool them. No matter their on-screen differences, they have more things in common than their Kiwi ethnicity in real life. Their rapport is out there for everyone to see, as it was visible in a conversation shared by Amazon Prime Videos.

Karl Urban is all praise for Antony Starr’s Homelander

In the conversation, the two stars could be seen getting candid about their experience of featuring in the Jack Quaid starrer series, and also how they got there. Both of them might have been on different journeys. But they started it out at the same place. And fate has finally reunited them.

It might be because of the innumerable similarities that Karl Urban can’t help but shower praise on Antony Starr. He said,

Anthony Starr as Homelander

“That’s where the most interesting thing happens. when you’re standing on the edge. And that’s one thing I love about this role particularly. And I think that’s what makes your character so vibrant and so scary. You have no idea about what you’re going to do at any particular time. (Prime Video)

Starr couldn’t agree more with his co-star’s analysis.

Yet he truly understands the importance of Homelander’s character. He continued,

“My storyline, if I go out on a tangent, the choices I make is crucial to driving the narrative. I can go further. So it does leave me in a spot I don’t have to overthink. I can live in the moment (snaps fingers) and see what happens. And that makes it so fun.”

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Homelander intends to keep on having more fun, especially with a blockbuster Season 4 in the works. One can believe that Homelander will go further.
