The actress is also known for starring in the role of Anamaria in the 2003 moviePirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.With a very small role with barely any screen time to her name, Zoe Saldaña stated that she hated working on the sets of the 2003 film. As per the actress’ quotes onIMDB, the actress hated working on the set so much that she had reached the point of giving up on acting!
“I didn’t like the experience of working on Pirates and I feel that it is my job to be completely honest. To me, that’s what a Hollywood movie felt like. If that’s what I have to witness, and have to go through, to do a Hollywood movie, I’d rather do something else. It was just too massive. You really felt the immensity of it. Just not my taste.”

Although the actress had mentioned this in a couple of interviews,Zoe Saldañarevealed that she had met producer Jerry Bruckheimer years later and he actually apologized to her!

TheAvataractress was quite humbled by the fact that Bruckheimer remembered her pain even after all these years. As perIMDB, Zoe Saldaña stated that the producer just wanted everybody to have a good time.

“Years later, I was able to meet with Jerry Bruckheimer, who apologized that I had that experience cause he really wants everyone to have a good experience on his projects. That really moved me — the fact that he remembered that I had mentioned that during press, I guess, or an engagement I had done years before and that he felt compelled to bring it up and to take accountability.”
