He has done a lot of movies that have only contributed to his increasing fame and respect. While the actor is one who has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, he has a long ongoing feud with Mickey Rourke.

TheIron Man 2actor has passed remarks toward De Niro often enough for the audience to learn that neither of them is a fan of the other. The actor has even threatened theTaxi Driveractor on so many occasions that a lot of his claims are now being overlooked to an extent where the very producers of a movie had to confirm allegations.

Robert De Niro Allegedly Did Not Want Mickey Rourke InThe Irishman
Robert De Nirostarred inThe Irishmanalongside Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. The movie was a Martin Scorsese work andMickey Rourkehad his eyes on the film as well. The actor alleged that he had been offered a role only to be denied later on.
“Marty Scorsese wanted to meet me for a movie with Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro,”Rourke claimed.“The casting person told my manager that Robert De Niro said he refused to work with me in a movie.”

He added that the only reason he could not be a part of Scorsese’sThe Irishmanwas because De Niro refused to work with Rourke. He allegedly had made sure Rourke would have no part in the movie and it was all because of a personal feud. De Niro’s PR team also responded to these allegations and stated that Rourke had never even been offered a role let alone be denied of it afterward.

Mickey Rourke Claimed That Robert De Niro Refused To Make Contact With Him
Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro worked together onAngel Heart.Their feud started from that very film as there began rumors of the latter calling the former a liar. However, these rumors were never confirmed and they happened to be passed down to the actor from a friend of his.
“Now, I don’t look up to him no more, I look through him.”

Rourke was hell-bent on embarrassing the actor and was trying his best to prove to the world as to who he is in his eyes. He had allegedly stated that De Niro refused to make physical contact with him. The scene required some contact, however, De Niro was adamant about his decision.
