Talking about the 2005 movie titledHitch,Eva Mendes blatantly disregarded the movie as trash. Stating that she wanted to be taken as a serious actress, she, later on, joined the film while also revealing that meeting theMen in Blackactor was one of the biggest highlights in her career.

Although there was no bad blood between the two actors, theGhost Rideractress simply refused to work in the 2005 movieHitchstarring Will Smith. While giving reasons, the actress stated that she wished to be an actress meant to be taken seriously.

Stating that romantic comedies were something that people took lightly, the actress refused to work with Will Smith. In an interview, the actress opened up about her thought process behind her decision to say no initially and how she could never figure out the right answer.
“I give it a chance and I read it and stuff then it’s like no. Actually I said no to “Hitch” and I was like I love Will but I want to be a serious actress. I don’t want to do a romantic comedy. I am an idiot. And of course, meeting Will was like one of the highlights of my career and meeting Jada and then that movie, working with Sony, it’s just so funny now.”
After initially refusing the actor, Mendes did agree to the role and later on, starred alongsideWill Smithin the 2005 movie. According to an interview, the actress had a hard time kissing Will Smith since she was so nervous to do so.
