In conversation with an Australian magazine named Rip it up, he mentioned the character he wanted to play inThe Lord Of The Rings.
” I’m petitioning to play Strider. I’d love to work with [Peter Jackson], but I’m not sure if it’s going to go ahead. I hope I can.”

Keanu Reevesdidn’t give up campaigning to get the role in the franchise. He even was ready to go begging to the director for the role and asked his team to make some calls. But he never had theLOTRrole written in his fate.
“Peter Jackson is doing that and I might have to go begging for the role. I have people making calls right now. Hopefully, he’ll think I’m right for the part. I’m the man. I’m there.”
The director chose Viggo Peter Mortensen Jr to portray the role of The Strider. That’s why Keanu Reeves didn’t end up being in the franchise.

NewThe Lord Of The RingsMovie In the Making?
After the end of the trilogy series in the year 2003, Amazon Studios came up with their series in 2022.The Rings of Powerseries received immense love from fans and was also watched by over 100 million people globally. Now looks like the viewers will also be getting a newLord of the Ringsmovie from Warner Bros. The studio has already signed a deal with Middle Earth Enterprises for future films.
Ahead of that, an animated movie ofThe Lord Of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrimwill grace the screens in the year 2024. The film is helmed by Kenji Kamiyama and the script is penned down by J.R.R Tolkien. The voice actors have already been confirmed and a brief plot is disclosed as well. The story will focus on the untold story of Helm’s Deep Fortress and the life of the King of Rohan – Helm Hammerland.
The film will hit the theatres on April 12th, 2024.
