It can’t be denied that Ben Affleck faced one of the worst superhero treatments ever in his run as DCEU’s Batman. Following James Gunn’s takeover of the superhero universe, Batfleck ended up not even having a movie of his own. Recently, some rumors stated that Affleck had his last DC appearance in the latestBlue Beetleuntil it was called out by the DCU co-head.

Ben Affleck was last seen giving a heartfelt speech inThe Flashbefore making his final goodbye to the superhero universe. Although it was hailed as the final appearance of the much-appreciated Batfleck, a fan recently claimed that James Gunn cut a voice cameo of the actor in Xolo Maridueña’s latest.

Did James Gunn Cut a MajorBlue BeetleCameo?
The DC movies are running through a quite rough patch of time after we saw howThe Flasheven after so much hype ended up being a financial disaster. But looks like the fans like the latestBlue Beetlemovie for its simplistic tone and Xolo Maridueña’s performance. However, following the trend of DC, this movie has also come into an online discussion after a fan claimed that the movie had aBen Affleckvoice cameo.
A majority of the fans were already disappointed with how DCEU’s Batman couldn’t make a mark despite having a strong fanbase and ended up with just a cameo in Ezra Miller’s movie. A user named “@sylabdul” claimed on Twitter that it was not his last as Gunn has allegedly cut a voice cameo of Bruce Wayne in the movie.

“Ben Affleck had a VOICE-ONLY CAMEO for #BlueBeetleMovie that was cut by Gunn
Was purely comedic BUT it placed blue Beetle film in batfleck continuity”

James Gunn, who is largely known for being active on social media, took notice of it and called out the fan stating how there never existed any cameo in the first place for him to cut.
I never heard of one because one never existed (just asked the producers).

Blue Beetlehas been marketed largely as a movie that doesn’t share any connection to the existing DCEU. Although it isn’t the pilot of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU either, the superhero is sure to have a significant part in it. On the other hand, it is highly unlikely for Ben Affleck to have another visit to this superhero world after his cameo inAquaman and the Lost Kingdomis also reportedly cut.
With aBatman: The Brave and the Boldmovie already planned by James Gunn in the pipeline for the upcoming DCU, it will be interesting to watch who accompanies Blue Beetle as the Caped Crusader in this rebooted universe.

Even though the movie didn’t have a banger of an opening at the box office, Ángel Manuel Soto and the team earned praise for the superhero origin movie. Xolo Maridueña’s performance and the family dynamics were heavily praised by all. TheCobra Kaifame did an amazing portrayal of Jaime Reyes and Blue Beetle’s suit also received appreciation.

Despite being termed as a generic superhero origin movie at the end of the day, it is appreciated for having a refreshed take and focusing on Jaime Reyes’ relationship with his family members. Now it will be interesting to see if the positive reviews result in a much-needed DC hit and if James Gunn’s plans for making it a trilogy come to fruition.
