The Flashmovie not includingArrowversestar Grant Gustin is already a huge miss in the franchise. Ezra Miller’s version of the superhero made a shocking cameo in Arrowverse’sCrisis on Infinite Earthsepisode, and fans expected the studio would return the favor, but unfortunately, they did not.

Director Andy Muschietti explained that he had to pick only a handful of characters who would make their appearances inThe Flash, and he opted to ignore the one that could have helped attract more viewers.

Grant Gustin’sThe FlashWas Left Out In Ezra Miller’s 2023 Movie
Grant Gustinplayed Barry Allen/The Flash for nine seasons, establishing himself as one of the best iterations of the famed superhero. In fact, he has been the most requested actor to make a cameo inEzra Miller’sThe Flash.
Andy Muschietti’s film dealt with the multiverse, which is enough instrument to bring Miller and Gustin together on one screen. They have done this before during the Arrowverse crossover eventCrisis on Infinite Earths, where theFantastic Beastsactor made a surprising cameo.

As the director opted not to return the favor in the big screen adaptation, his reason for excluding Gustin’s version is way more disappointing. The Flashhad a tumultuous journey into the theaters, with its lead star getting involved in serious legal cases and causing delays in production.
While Miller donned the red suit in 2016’sBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gustin has been the face of The Flash since 2014. He continuously played the character until its final episode in 2023.

Ignoring his legacy as a version of The Flash and deciding not to bring his character into the big screen while they have the multiverse to explore is a huge disservice to Gustin and the entirety of theArrowverse.

It would have been a spectacular event seeing Gustin and Miller’s The Flash share the screen once again and a nice way as well to give a nod to theArrowverse, but theGleestar and his version of the hero no longer need to prove anything.
He has done numerous crossovers with otherArrowverseshows, includingSupergirl. Gustin is also praised for his remarkable portrayal of the Fastest Man Alive.

Grant Gustin Was Never Approached To Make A Cameo
In an interview withTV Line, Grant Gustin revealed that he, as fans already knew, had no cameo inThe Flash. Surprisingly, he was also never contacted to have the opportunity to make a surprise appearance. This only means thatAndy Muschiettifirmly did not want Gustin’s version on board.
Fans have expressed their disappointment over the director’s decision. It was a unanimous response from the public that his version of The Flash remains unparalleled, and his depiction of the character truly pays homage to the comics.
Gustin’s cameo might not entirely saveThe Flashfilm from bombing at the box office, but it would have helped buy more tickets, made the narrative more interesting, and above all, celebrated the character’s different versions.
