Ensure your enemies’ extermination with the help of this detailed Ultron guide in Marvel Rivals. Here’s how to play the new Strategist.
Marvel Rivals has finally introduced Ultron to the roster. The new Strategist ignites the battle starting on July 15, 2025. This marks the beginning of Season 2.5. It’s not the same Ultron who went on to take over Arakko. On the contrary, it’s a variant of the villain who is working with our heroes for his own selfish motives. He is not the most difficult character to play, but learning about him can help you master the intended playstyle.

Ultron’s Abilities in Marvel Rivals
How To Play Ultron in Marvel Rivals
Ultron Mobility
The supreme machine is the first flying Strategist on the roster. As a result, his mobility is way better than many walking heroes likeAdam Warlock. So, he can move anywhere on the Y-axis like Iron Man, Storm, and Human Torch as per his will. Moreover, if he wishes to boost his movement, he can use hisdash abilityto dash in the moving direction and start moving at increased speed for six seconds after that. This is all he has got in terms of mobility.
Ultron Playstyle and Combos
When it comes to “combos”, Ultron doesn’t have any. He only has one primary fire. Apart from that, his team up “Stark Protocol” grants his primary fire infinite ammo and allows it the ability tohealas well. It has a 30s cooldown. He also has a dash that gives him overhealth and a firewall ability that does the same. Apart from that, he has a healing drone for his allies.
The primary playstyle that you need to concern yourself with is far from the enemy team and focusing on their squishy characters. Since he can’t self-heal except for being in the drone radius, he must stick with the ally who has the healing drone. It has no cooldown, so you can switch it whenever.
Ultron’s Survivability
The new Strategist has a max HP of 250. Dashing and firewall ability give you 75 and 85overhealth, respectively. However, both of these abilities are on cooldown. Moreover, his self-healing is not that impressive. Ultron can only heal himself when his drone is placed on a nearby ally and he is within its sphere.
So, if an enemy Hela catches him flying above, his survivability wouldn’t be that good. But overall, he can survive longer compared to other flying DPS characters like the Human Torch, Storm, and Iron Man.

Best Team Composition with Ultron in Marvel Rivals
Doctor Strange will be the anchor tank to protect the healers on the ground and make space for the team. Luna Snow and Cloak & Dagger will be able to provide healing to everybody on land and in the sky. Luna Snow is a hitscan hero who will have no trouble healing the aerial heroes, while Dagger has a “lock on” primary healing.
Iron Man and Human Torch must stick with Ultron in the air to keep themselves healed. They can be anti-dive when needed, taking out heroes like Black Panther or Magik from the air. Constant healing from Ultron drones will also increase their productivity.

Ultron Counters in Marvel Rivals
The main characters who can hard counter Ultron are:
All heroes up until Winter Soldier on this list are hitscan characters. This means that their projectile doesn’t take time (or any significant time) to travel to the target. This allows players to easily take down a flying hero like Ultron. No matter how much he can heal himself, if the hitscan damage is persistent, he will easily die.
Hulk is a character who is melee for the most part. However, his gamma clap ability can deal ranged damage as a projectile. Moreover, when heexilesa flying hero, they will come crashing down. If none of this works, hisIncredible Leapability can bring down all fliers that he hits while jumping.
