Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater, the highly anticipated remake of the iconic Metal Gear title, finally has a confirmed release date. Although the game was announced back in 2023, it never got a confirmed release date outside of a potential 2025 window. However, during the recently held PlayStation State of Play event, Konami finally revealed the game’sAugust 2025release date. Built usingUnreal Engine 5, Metal Gear Solid Delta is a faithful remake of the original MGS 3, albeit with gameplay and presentation-related improvements.

Although the game has received a shiny new coat of paint with the remake, the underlying story as well as its characters remain roughly identical to the original MGS 3.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater Release Date and Platforms
Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is scheduled to be released onAugust 28, 2025. Although the game has been advertised primarily for the PS5, it’s also coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC. On PC, Metal Gear Solid Delta is available through Steam. Pre-orders for the game are currently live on all platforms, alongside thepre-order bonus pack.
Furthermore, if you pre-order the more expensiveDeluxe Editionof the remake, you will be able to play the game roughly48 hoursearly, i.e., onAugust 26, 2025. The early access incentive is available on all platforms, albeit only for the Deluxe Edition pre-orders, not for the Standard Edition.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater Editions and Prices
Much like theSilent Hill 2 Remakefrom Konami, Metal Gear Solid Delta is offered in two different editions –StandardandDeluxe. Given it’s a “current-gen-only” title, the Standard Edition is priced at$70. The Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, is priced at$80. However, for the extra $10, you’re getting a few additional goodies. The Deluxe Edition comes with theSneaking DLC pack, which includes 10 different costume pieces forSnake(the game’s protagonist).
