It seems like the search is over as Marvel Studios have finally found the Kamala Khan of their cinematic universe.According toDeadline,NewcomerIman Vellanihas been cast as Kamala Khan in the Disney+ Marvel Cinematic Universe series,Ms. Marvel. The production of the series is now set to begin in a couple of weeks.Ms. MarvelTV series would be introducing the live-action version of Kamala Khan to the MCU for the first time after she first appeared as an aid to Captain Marvel in her comics around 2013.

Ms MarvelTV series would be based on Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American fan of Captain Marvel, who discovers her powers after being exposed to the Terrigen Mists which mutate her into an Inhuman. Kamala has elastic powers and decides to assume the identity of Miss Marvel to save the day. The character was the first Muslim protagonist to have her solo comics at Marvel. With the Disney + series, she will be the MCU’s first Muslim heroine. Kevin Feige has already made it clear that the character will also appear in the films.

This might be Iman Vellani’s first major work in Hollywood, but she is already known for fighting for diversity in the film industry. In 2019, the young actress was part of the 2019 Toronto Film Festival’s committee that had a similar intention.

It was unknown who would play the Muslim heroine for months until finally, Marvel Studios concluded their search.
