“I think I sang in the middle of a field in Berlin and then I saw Tom, who had dyed his hair purple, and Joshy was there and the three of us, like, had this really beautiful group hug moment. And I’m gonna miss getting to come to work every day and see, oh no (starts tearing up), and seeing these people. It’s one of the most beautiful experiences and so I have the same feeling right now that I had on the last day of work, which is just-, this was really fun”

Zegler talked about how she was singing in the middle of a field in Berlin for the final scenes of the film and after the cameras stopped recording, she, Tom Blyth, and Josh Andrés Rivera ended up coming together for a group hug. She mentioned that this was a treasured memory for her and she would really miss this feeling that she got with the cast when she came to work for this film.

Rachel Zegler Made Francis Lawrence Cry
After talking about this, Francis Lawrence, who was also giving this interview alongside Rachel Zegler, talked about his own perspective of their last day. He mentioned that the cast was shooting a scene that took place under the catacombs of the arena, which was a very dark place, and the entire cast and crew ended up going to a field to commemorate their last day together.
“We were shooting, there was this scene that takes place in these catacombs under the arena, so it was dark and this bastment, water thing. And we all came up cause we were done and so went up to this field and the whole crew was there and they went dead-silent. And she sang the hanging tree.”

He mentioned that here, everyone was completely silent when all of a sudden, Zegler started to singThe Hanging Tree, an important and significant song for this franchise. Talking about this moment made Lawrence extremely emotional and he found it difficult to talk about this.
