However, the world’s favorite geeky beefcake has a new project in the works: aWarhammer 40,000adaption with Amazon.

After The Hollywood Reporter reported that Amazon was in the final stages of acquiring the rights, Games Workshop revealed that it had signed an arrangement with the tech and entertainment behemoth to develop aWarhammer 40Kcinematic universe.
Henry Cavill waited thirty years to makeWarhammer
Henry Cavill, a long-timeWarhammerenthusiast, will star and serve as executive producer. No showrunner or writer is assigned to the adaptation of Games Workshop’s tabletop wargames’ dark fantasy sci-fi setting. The Hollywood Reporter article cited a series, but Games Workshop stated that the contract includes all kinds of media.
“I have loved Warhammer since I was a boy, making this moment truly special for me. The opportunity to shepherd this cinematic universe from its inception is quite the honor and the responsibility,”

“For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action. Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life.”
Henry Cavillis an avid gamer, it is his obsession with gaming that boughtThe Witcherto life and now the actor has moved to another project. He has openly discussed his admiration forWarhammer, the actor issued this statement on Instagram after donning the title of executive producer forWarhammer.

Henry Cavill and Natalie Viscuso secured the rights toWarhammer 40K
The actor introduced his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso to the games a few years ago and the duo bonded on it. She expressed her excitement about being able to make the series with her boyfriend. She wrote,
“Fantasy, horror and sci-fi are the bedrock of my creative language, so when Henry introduced me to Warhammer a couple of years ago, I immediately felt at home… Building a cinematic universe with Henry, our team at Amazon, and the empire that is Games Workshop, is an honor and a pleasure.”

Roy Lee and Natalie Viscuso of Vertigo Entertainment worked with Cavill to gain the rights and bring them to Amazon. Vertigo will produce with Cavill and GAW’s Andy Smillie and Max Bottrill, as well as Amazon Studios. Without the help of Viscuso Cavill would not have gained the production rights to the Amazon projects.

After Cavill’s current experiences with Hollywood, It is not surprising that Cavill wants more control over the projects he is working on. The actor will now have a seat at the table and make imperative decisions about the show’s future.
After starring inEnola Holmes 2andBlack Adam, Henry Cavill has numerous projects lined up outside ofWarhammer 40,000in the next years, including the spy pictureArgylle, which will be released in 2023.
