Portrayed by Sophia Di Martino, Sylvie emerges as a crucial character in Loki’s story which starts with him trying to catch her for the Time Variance Authority before travelling with her to find who’s pulling the strings at the TVA. In the end, she kills He Who Remains and her actions threaten to start a new Multiversal War. Accordingly, fans expected to see a lot more of the character in Season 2, but after watching the show, many ended up feeling that the character was wasted.

What Fans Want Marvel to Do With Sylvie in Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Series
Spoiler Alert: The following part of the article contains spoilers for the second season of Loki.
As the trailer suggested,Loki Season 2picks up withTom Hiddleston‘s character embroiled in yet to be unraveled concept of time-slipping after seemingly being betrayed by Sylvie. As the story progresses, we see Loki, along with Mobius, and Hunter B-15, navigate the Multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, and Miss Minutes.

In the season finale, titledGlorious Purpose, Loki finds his glorious purpose of saving his friends. The God of Mischief, having harnessed his time slipping into a superpower, turns into the God of Stories, essentially replacing He Who Remains as the protector of the branches.
While Loki achieved a meta status in the story, Sylvie was left merely to play a part from the sidelines in his transformation, much to many fans’ disappointment. Meanwhile, some viewers on social media have suggested Marvel figureheads put the spotlight onSophia Di Martino‘s character in Season 3.

It’s very clear that Sylvie was a Waldron addition that Eric Martin & the rest of the writers had no clue what to do with after he left to do Multiverse of Madnesshttps://t.co/H0a0yr0q9A

I would be down for a Loki season 3 with her as the protagonist. She needs some push.

I noticed with Sylvie this season they cut back a lot on the implied romance of the first season. I wonder if it was because people thought it was too weird or what. It seemed more like her and Loki were just friends, which to be fair is what it should’ve been from the start.

I think her character did what was needed for the plot but they could’ve and should’ve gave her something else to do

She was awesome in Season 1 but genuinely didn’t add much in Season 2. Her ending was also left very open ended, I wonder if she’ll return because her first season was incredible.

It’s never easy for writers to move away from the titular character, but Hiddleston’s recent comments suggest Marvel won’t have much choice should they decide to bring another season of the hit Disney+ series.

What Tom Hiddleston Said About His Character After Loki Season 2 Finale
The English actor entered the MCU in 2011 as a selfish Asgardian willing to go to any lengths to get his hands on a throne in the movieThor.Since then, Marvel fans have seen him go from a villain to an antihero to now a supposed superhero, who finally gets a throne and his glorious purpose.
Speaking about his time in the MCU onThe Tonight Show, Hiddleston suggested his journey with the franchise is over by describing the finale as a full circle moment. He said:
“If you haven’t seen it, I will not spoil it for you but I will say this, it all comes full circle. It’s the conclusion of season two. It’s also the conclusion to seasons one and two. It’s also the conclusion to six films and 12 episodes and 14 years of my life. I was 29 when I was cast, I’m 42 now. it’s been a journey.”
While it isn’t a formal confirmation, this is as far as the 42-year-old could’ve gone in announcing his departure from the MCU through a television show. Obviously, one can’t rule out anything when it comes to the magical and powerful world of Marvel Studios.
