DavidAyer Defends James Gunn Against Nepotism Controversy

When a Twitter user asked James Gunn to“stop putting his wife in every DC project,”the latter responded to it by claiming how 2021’sThe Suicide Squadwas the only ever DC film that he actively cast Jennifer Holland in.“I had nothing to do with the casting of any other movie – anything else was shot a year or so ago while I was deep in Vol 3,”theGuardians of the Galaxydirector stated.

He even went ahead to say that the only reason why people are attacking him on his seemingly nepotistic actions was because they are“deeply in need of reasons to hate.”Backing him up on that particular statement,Suicide Squadfilmmaker David Ayer hopped on the social networking site to further defend DCU’s co-CEO.

He then praised Gunn, 56, for making“the hardest job in Hollywood”look like a piece of cake, subtly hinting toward the latter’s plights and toils with regard to his work.
