While promoting his then-new film,Gravityin 2012, alongside Sandra Bullock, the 62-year-old actor delved into what fame actually is.
In an interview withIndieWire, he shared,
“Fame can be very dangerous because you’re able to start to enjoy that part of it. And that’s not the good part of what I do for a living.”
He further shared,
“The good part is the making of films. The unpleasant part is the fame part, if you’re not careful.”
Having kicked off his acting journey in the late 1970s, he gained recognition with his role as Dr. Doug Ross on medical drama series,ER.With his breakthrough role inFrom Dusk Till Dawn,he gained wider prominence through his work which eventually established him as an influential personality in Hollywood.

George Clooneyfurther in the interview opened up about dealing with recognition which came when he was in his 30s.
He shared,
“I was 34 before [fame] hit. And I’d failed a lot. And having failed a lot I understood how lucky success was. Because it’s not just about your brilliance. Luck has a huge hand it in.”
He further opened up about having a“good life”but it also pushes him to work which he likes to do.
TheArgostar,
“Most people don’t get this opportunity and I feel like because I have this opportunity I want to do as many things as I can to push as many limits as I can until they say I can’t. And they will say I can’t.”
In another interview, he opened up about how gaining fame in his 30s helped him in living a normal life which is something that celebrities have to compromise. He has learned to channel his popularity and now uses it to address noble causes and environmentalism.
