Call of Dutyfans are counting the days. The last part of the Modern Warfare trilogy is set to release on 10thNovember 2023. Since the first part came out in 2019, it has been a festival for theCall of Dutyfans. A festival that stretched for four years. Even though it is a reboot of the original game, people still are way too excited to go up against Vladimir Makarov.
The original voice actors were left out, and voice actors were hired. Previously, it was Billy Murray who voiced Captain Price. But the reboot featured Barry Sloane as the new voice actor for Captain Price. Even though there has been a role shift, the latter holds immense respect for the former.
Barry Sloane on Billy Murray
During an interview, Barry Sloane was full of praise for Billy Murray. The present voice actor of Captain Price said that the former voice actor of Captain Price inspired him. He termed Billy Murray’s performance in the originalCall of Duty: Modern Warfare Trilogyas‘fantastic.’There was not a single moment that he stopped praising him. He said that Billy Murray’s outstanding performance made people give a f**k about Captain Price to the present day.

Barry Sloane also added that he himself had the honour of portraying the famous character in the modern version. People will see him in 3D as the new Captain Price. Replacing Billy Murray is difficult, and he tried to bring justice to the character through his performance. Sloane read Murray and tried to add a portion of the former voice actor’s choices and body language. This is a fanboy moment for him.
Barry Sloane Added His Own Personality inCall of Duty
Barry Sloane is undoubtedly inspired by Billy Murray’s portrayal of Captain Price, but that does not mean he did a full copy of the former voice actor. The presentCall of Dutyvoice actor said that he added some of his choices to the characters. Some of them were gladly accepted, while some of them were not.

Due to the lack of Scouse characters, Barry Sloane thought portraying Captain Price as a Scouse was a good idea. It would have changed the way Billy Murray showed the character. So, ultimately, that idea was discarded. On the other hand, Infinity Ward, theCall of Dutygames developer, decided to go with Sloane’s vision of making the character more of a working-class than to be clipped. This helped Sloane to add some of his characteristics to his character.
For the moment, everyone is waiting forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.Only time will tell whether Barry Sloane fulfills the role of Captain Price or Billy Murray will remain the best choice for the role.
