Scarlett Johansson’s Management Company Wasn’t on Board With the Idea
In the beginning, when theater composer Andrew Lloyd Webber approachedScarlett Johanssonwith his idea of making a stage play with her at the forefront, he claimed she was initially engrossed in the idea. Following the duo’s love for musicals, and Johansson’s singing capabilities, which can be witnessed inSingand its sequel, Johansson was initially on board with Webber’s vision. However, things went south after theAvengersStar’s management team entered into the matter, who wasn’t sold on this idea and didn’t want her client partaking in the project. Webber claimed,
“Her people were not pro the idea. It became clear that it wasn’t going to work because the demands became so ridiculous,”

Although it seemed the paycheck was the reason behind their disagreement, the management company did make a statement, claiming it was due to the actress’ commitment to other projects.
