“There’s no respect. Actually, they’re harder to make, but when you land a comedic moment, or a joke, or something that makes the audience laugh, you know it right away. It’s immediate gratification on set. When you do a drama, someone in the editing room helps you; the musician helps you – there are all these elements that help enhance your performance.”
Sandra Bullock stated that she does comedy films not to win awards, but it gives her joy as an actor.“There’s no respect, but we also don’t do it for the respect. You don’t expect good reviews; you don’t expect credibility. You do it for joy. You don’t do it for awards,”Bullock added.
The Heatmovie star once said in her interview that she doesn’t feel that people in the industry respect the genres she chose to work in, especially romantic comedies.The actress said,
“I wasn’t really designing a career to win Academy Awards. If you look at my trajectory, I wasn’t looking for projects that really fell into the category of highly respected work; I just was doing what brought me joy and what I was lucky enough to get.”
While Sandra Bullock has done almost all genre films, the actress revealed during the conversation that she is terrified of doing one thing on-screen, which is singing in front of the camera. The actress said,
“I will never ever sing on camera. My mother and father were opera singers. I was in the operas as some dirty child always in the background. To sing, to me, is so revealing and, like, I have no ability to sing. I love music — I’m very musical. Singing I will never ever, ever do. That I’m afraid to do.”
