Instead, the spotlight will broaden to encompass other Marvels within the MCU universe. Particularly, Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau will join forces with Captain Marvel, to unravel a fascinating tale in the latest project.
However, this narrative direction does raise questions about the likelihood of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel receiving her own standalone movie in the future. Following the 2019 film that can be described as falling within the mid-tier of the franchise, director Nia DaCosta has candidly shared her experiences of receiving mixed signals from the head honcho of the MCU regarding the potential for a future solo outing. Thus, as of now, there hasn’t been confirmation about the development of a second standalone Captain Marvel film. The likelihood of this possibility hinges, at least in part, on the success ofThe Marvels.

Thus in a recent issue of Total Film Magazine, the directorNia DaCosta, talked about the possible, stand-aloneBrie LarsonCaptain Marvel movie. Judging from the current indications, the situation appears less promising. DaCosta disclosed that whenever she presents fresh concepts for the movie, Kevin Feige’s responses are a blend of conflicting messages. This has led her to suspect that there might be alternative strategies in the works, ones that she isn’t privy to and isn’t involved in. She said,
“I’ll pitch Kevin 17 versions of what can happen with all these women, and why and how, and this and that. And he’s like, ‘Okay, girl’, and sometimes I think I’ve really got a movie going after this. And then other times, I’m like, ‘Oh, they have this whole other plan that I’m not a part of.'”
Therefore, while concrete confirmations are absent regarding any active developments, the potential for such endeavors grows significantly if the audience reception toThe Marvelsis highly positive. However, the character’s future remains secure, given the abundance of storylines that can be integrated to make her one of the most significant characters within the franchise.

“In terms of women-led films and women as superheroes in particular, and excitement around that, I think it’s really just about whether or not the movie’s good. Especially now we have more and more films that are female-led that are action-based or superhero- based.–But I think for women-led superhero films, as long as the quality stays up, that’s what’s gonna keep the audience coming back.”
Even though the comics offer a wealth of storyline possibilities for the characters’ futures, uncertainties persist. It’s apparent that the director is diligently striving to impress Kevin Feige with her creative concepts.
