Do you think there is probably a look-alike somewhere in the world for everyone? Well, if that’s the case, it probably doesn’t just apply to regular people who run into their look-alikes. It so does apply to famous people as well. For example, a news anchor once seemed to mistake, Samuel L Jackson for another Marvel star. Any guesses?

Well, interviews are a rare chance for the general public to see celebrities act outside of their roles on television, in films, or on stage. In the best-case scenario, the interactions help audiences feel more connected to celebrities.
In the worst case, they arouse public outrage. Samuel L Jackson, however, was unable to control his rage as KTLA news anchor, Sam Rubin mistook the actor for Laurence Fishburne, an actor who has won three Emmy Awards.

In 2014, Jackson criticized a Los Angeles-based entertainment reporter after he confused theTogether for Daysactor with Fishburne.
For the unversed, Fishburne is well known for playing Morpheus inThe Matrixfranchise.

A News Anchor Confused Samuel L Jackson With Laurence Fishburne
The Los Angeles entertainment reporter, Sam Rubin invitedSamuel L Jacksonin 2014 for a quick interview to promote Jackson’s movie,RoboCop.
Rubin brought up the subject of the Super Bowl commercial, which seemed to be a fatal oversight on Jackson’s part.TheRagtimeactor was initially baffled, which was followed by an awkward pause. Just as Rubin was about to defend himself, Jackson snapped:

“You’re as crazy as the people on Twitter!”
He yelled while shaking his finger:
“I am NOT Laurence Fishburne!”
The reporter was obviously referring to a Kia commercial that featuredThe Matrixstar, Laurence Fishburne rather than Jackson.Rubin’s mistake was followed by some more funny quotes from Jackson as the reporter desperately tried to bring upRoboCopagain:
“We don’t all look alike! We may be all black and famous, but we don’t all look alike!”

He even prompted the reporter to recall:
“You’re the entertainment reporter for this station? And you don’t know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne?That must be a very short line for your job outside there.”

Laurence Fishburne On Being Mistaken For Samuel L Jackson
Sam Rubin, who was interviewing actor, Samuel L Jackson, made an embarrassing error in 2014 while identifying the actor asLaurence Fishburne, which caused outrage on entertainment websites.
The mix-up resulted in Jackson giving Rubin a live roasting, but it turned out that similar situations have occurred in the past.In fact, Fishburne claimed during a 2013 interview withGeorge Stroumboulopoulos Tonightthat the two actors have been confused for the past many years.
Stroumboulopoulos agreed when Fishburne told him about a similar incident that he handled very differently from Jackson.
“I was doing an interview in New York almost 20 years ago. A woman from Texas came up and interrupted the interview, ‘I don’t mean to bother you, but can I have your autograph Mr. Jackson?’”
The Color Purplestar further added:
“And so I wrote blah, blah, blah, Sam Jackson. So Sam and I have this running gag about it. Once upon a time people used to confuse Al Pacino and Dustin Hoffman… it’s not a bad problem to have.”
On the professional front, Samuel L Jackson returned to the Disney+ series,Secret Invasionas Nick Fury. He will also reprise that role inThe Marvels,theCaptain Marvelsequel, which will be released on July 02, 2025.
