After Season 1.5, fans are waiting for the release of Marvel Rivals Season 2. What is the expected date for the next season?
Marvel Rivals is already awaiting its Season 2 launch. The game came out on July 25, 2025, and kicked things off with Season 0. After that, we received Season 1 on June 16, 2025. This means that S0 only lasted slightly more than a month. Now, it has been more than two months since the launch of S1 but we still haven’t come across any Season 2 update in the game. Why is that? Well, the schedule is already out there!
Marvel Rivals Season 2 Expected Release Date
Marvel Rivals had confirmed earlier that only the first Season (S0) would last around a month. Every Season that follows will be 3 months long. To facilitate the flow, each Season will be divided into two. This is why Season 1.5 dropped the game’s mid-season updates. While there areminor patches and balance changesevery now and then, the “major updates” are marked by aServer Downtimefor maintenance purposes.
So,keeping the schedule in mind, Season 2 will most likely come out aroundApril 11, 2025. It will mark the end of the Eternal Night Falls saga and start a fresh story for the players to dive into. Once again, there will beofficial announcements,trailers,balance changes, andServer Downtimeto implement all the new changes.
We are still not sure about this date because the developers might end up changing it based on their progress and polishing certain details at the last moment. But as the schedule suggests, April 11 looks promising.
What Will Marvel Rivals Season 2 Offer?
The Creative Director for Marvel Rivals, Guangyun Chen, recently spoke to PC Gamer to reveal thatnew characters,modes, andmapswill be coming soon. This seems to be in reference to the upcoming Season 2. The lore gathered through the Seasonal EventMidnight Features IIsuggests thatDoctor Doomhas some sinister plans. He has teased that he has a “Gala” to attend. Fans have since been wondering whether he was referring to theHellfire GalainKrakoa, the mutant nation.
Krakoa has been mentioned in the game through various dialogues, especially becauseMagnetoseems fond of it. Some costume leaks also suggest the Marvel Rivals roster adapting to thefashionable Gala theme, includingScarlet Witch’s Emporium Matron. And when it comes tonew heroes, it looks like we will only get 2 of them for the entire Season 2.
The team behind Marvel Rivals has revealed that they plan on going forone hero every six weeks. TheFantastic 4was an exception because they are a full team. So, if there will be one hero at the beginning of Season 2 with another one coming with the Season 2.5 update, the first one might beBlade. He had been teased in the Midnight Features I & II and is alsopresent in the Empire of Eternal Night Central Park map. After him,Emma Frostcould be the next hero to join the roster!
