According to Kevin Smith, another reason for the fallout was that not only did he and Ben Affleck stop checking in on each other (hinting that this was possible becauseBen Affleck is more famous and an A-List starand would not really have time for the former due to his stardom) but also becauseBen Affleck’s now ex-wife, Jennifer Garnerwasn’t really fond of him either.

Kevin Smith recounted the incident where Jennifer Garner had threatened to kick his ass when he was“talking smack”and“making fun of Ben Affleck”.

Conclusively, maybe Kevin Smith was right about Jennifer Garner lacking a sense of humor (or“had a girly sense of humor”) or the former had actually crossed a line while joking around (which isn’t uncommon, to be honest) we’ll probably never know but Kevin Smith’s side of the story seems innocent enough.
