Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in the upcomingDeadpool 3
Hugh Jackman has assured fans that his cameo as Wolverine in the upcomingDeadpool 3won’t mess with the priorX-Menstoryline. In other words, no matter what happens in the MCU, Jackman’s Wolverine character arc from 2000’sX-Men,to 2017’sLoganwill be unaffected. The new Wolverine differs significantly from Jackson’s earlierWolverine, revealedRyan Reynolds, in an interview with ET Canada. Neither Reynolds nor Jackman have provided many details about the new Wolverine in the upcomingDeadpool 3.
On the upcoming collaboration with Jackman, Reynolds said,
“We’ve wanted to this; this [sic] for decades…it’s weirdly the perfect time.”
“I never stopped [trying to get him to come back as Wolverine]. I was just pestering him like a gnat over the last many years. I believe in timing, as much as hard work and luck and all those intersections that are supposed to meet. Timing’s the big one. I think he was ready. I think he was excited.” “And what we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.”
There’s nothing confirmed about Scott Eastwood ever playing Wolverine. However,Deadpool 3is preparing to debut in theaters on July 18, 2025.
